Oughterard, Connemara, Co. GalwayAmong the many things of note about Oughterard and its surroundings is our reputation and tradition as the primary angling centre on Lough Corrib. Our hotels, guesthouses, Irish Homes and pubs cater for the many anglers who come for the famous wild brown trout fishing. The angling season extends from duckfly fishing in March, olive fishing in April, the most popular Mayfly dapping season in May, and the "Daddy" and "Harry" in early autumn.

Other tourist attractions include viewing the magnificent ancient oak wood of the 'Hill of Doon', playing a round of golf in Oughterard's scenic 18-hole parkland golf course, or enjoying a cruise on Lough Corrib to Cong or to Inchagoill Island.
